Second Day of Christmas (St. Stephen's Day)
26 December 2026 — The gifts are on the sleigh – time to visit your loved ones!
The Second Day of Christmas falls on 26 December and is a public holiday in Germany. In the church calendar, Western Christians remember Saint Stephen on this date, traditionally regarded as the first Christian martyr, which is why the day is also called St. Stephen's Day (Stephanstag). Today the holiday is mostly about family: people visit relatives and friends, share a meal and carry the Christmas mood a little further. Many churches hold festive services, and in some regions old customs linked to Saint Stephen, regarded as a patron of horses, are still kept. The day comes shortly after the winter solstice, when daylight slowly begins to grow longer. That is why our sleigh glides across the starry sky towards loved ones, bringing light and gifts without any rush.
Flying across the sky: An ethereal, bluish-silver sleigh made of luminous dots and thin connecting lines, like a constellation gliding across the night sky, trailing a faint stream of tiny stars and carrying a small bundle of gift-shaped star clusters
