Saint Joseph's Day (Father's Day)

19 March 2026 — Happy Father's Day to all dads! This little chest carries a drawing full of love.

On 19 March the Catholic Church honours Saint Joseph, husband of Mary and earthly father of Jesus, who according to the Gospels was a carpenter. In Spain the day is also Father's Day (Día del Padre), a tradition tied to Joseph as a model of the caring father. Children draw cards and make small gifts for their dads, and families gather for a meal. In some regions the day has been a public holiday, though its status varies by region and year. In Valencia it coincides with Las Fallas, a great festival of large figures that are burnt on the night of 19 March, honouring Saint Joseph, patron of carpenters. The date falls close to the March equinox, when day and night are nearly equal and spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere. Our little chest recalls work, care and family warmth.

Flying across the sky: An ethereal, bluish-silver figure of a small carpenter's chest drawn from luminous dots and thin connecting lines, like a constellation drifting across the night sky
