Circus Day (Brazil)

27 March 2026 — Ladies and gentlemen, the planets are in my hands! Hooray for the circus!

Every year on 27 March, Brazil marks Circus Day (Dia do Circo). According to Brazilian sources, the date is linked to the birthday of the famous clown Piolin (Abelardo Pinto, born in 1897), one of the best-loved circus performers in the country. He is regarded as a symbol of Brazilian circus, and his name evokes shows that make children and adults laugh together. The day honours the whole circus art: acrobats, jugglers, illusionists, animal trainers, musicians and clowns. In many cities there are performances, workshops and meetings with artists. The holiday has a fixed date and does not depend on the Moon or the solstices, yet its spirit suits the sky: juggling balls recall how planets trace their paths and how everything turns in balance.

Flying across the sky: An ethereal, bluish-silver star figure made of luminous dots and lines, like a constellation, in the shape of a clown with a wide hat, juggling small glowing planets that arc through the sky in trails of light points
