Chinese Doctors' Day
19 August 2026 — Remember to rest and drink water! Here is a star-vitamin for you.
Chinese Doctors' Day is observed on 19 August. It was approved by China's State Council in 2017 and has been celebrated since 2018 as a way to thank and honour medical workers. It is not a day off but a professional holiday. Hospitals and clinics hold ceremonies, outstanding doctors receive awards, and the media tell stories of people who care for patients day and night. China also has a long medical tradition, from herbal healing to acupuncture, so the day carries a sense of continuity between old and new knowledge. The date follows the Gregorian calendar and is not tied to any celestial event. Still, mid-August skies are rich in shooting stars: the Perseids (an annual meteor shower made of particles from comet Swift–Tuttle) peak around 12–13 August and remain active until about 24 August. That is why our doctor hands out star-vitamins as she crosses the sky.
Flying across the sky: An ethereal, bluish-silver figure made of luminous dots and thin connecting lines, like a constellation drifting across the sky: a kindly doctor with a stethoscope and a small herbal pouch
