International Day of Care and Support
29 October 2026 — Thank you to everyone who cares for others.
The UN General Assembly proclaimed 29 October the International Day of Care and Support. The day is a reminder that caring for children, older people and persons with disabilities is work that holds society together — and that much of it is invisible and unpaid, most often done by women in the family. The UN calls on countries to invest in care systems that respect human rights and to recognise, reduce and share unpaid care and domestic work more fairly.
