Questions and bridges
Why Is My Horoscope Different on Different Websites?
Differences come from a few independent choices: the zodiac system used (tropical or sidereal), how precise your birth time and place are, which house system is applied, and who wrote the interpretation. The planets are in the same place in the sky; the tradition is simply read in different ways.
The short answer
Two websites can show you different things and neither has to be “wrong”. Planetary positions are calculated from shared astronomical data (ephemerides, tables of positions), but from there the choices and the interpretation diverge.
Main reasons
1. Zodiac system. Western tradition uses the tropical zodiac, tied to the seasons, while Indian tradition (Jyotish) uses the sidereal zodiac, tied to the star background. They differ by roughly 24 degrees, so your Sun may fall in another sign. See tropical and sidereal zodiac.
2. Birth time and place. The Ascendant (the rising sign) changes about every two hours, and the Moon changes sign every two to three days. If the time is approximate, parts of the chart shift. See what if I don’t know my birth time.
3. House system. There are several methods of dividing the sky into houses, and they differ most at higher latitudes. See house systems.
4. The author’s text. Daily and weekly forecasts are written by different people or built from templates, so the emphasis varies. That is interpretation, not measurement.
What to do
Pick one source that states its system and data clearly, and treat it as food for reflection rather than a verdict. See also why horoscopes differ.
Questions and answers
Which website is correct?
It depends on the system each one uses. Positions can be calculated, but interpretation is a tradition and cannot be tested like a scientific fact.
Why is my sign different in Indian astrology?
It uses the sidereal zodiac, which is offset from the tropical one by about 24 degrees, so the sign is often the previous one.
